Coming soon to London and Venice: the work of designer Tim van de Weerd whose playful plant pot family, Carnivora will be exhibited during the Architecture Bi\u00ebnnale in Venice. The trend setting London Mint Shop will also show the Carnivora as one of the new season design highlights during the spring exhibition, Spring Forms. The exceptional design of the Carnivora makes one think of a live animal, which lives in a symbiotic state with the plant it holds.<\/em><\/p>\n

Tim van de Weerd is enjoying success. During the biannual Architecture Bi\u00ebnnale in Venice, his work, Carnivora will be exhibited at the renowned design event, Design.ve, and for the second year running, his work will be shown in the London Mint Shop. His Monstera series was recognized by the internationally renowned trend forecaster, Lidewij Edelkoort, who selected Tim\u2019s eccentric plant pots for the Designing Lightness exhibition. Tim\u2019s work keeps company with the exclusive likes of watch brand Rado, whose newest collection was introduced by Designing Lightness in 2016.<\/p>\n

\"Designve-2016\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ceramics in Venice<\/strong>
\nThe small, frolicksome Carnivora pots combine a playful energy with classical elegance, each piece unique with their individually formed thin porcelain feet. The curators of Veniceartfactory, who also organized exhibitions during the Bi\u00ebnnale Venice 2015, were taken with these characteristic pieces and invited Tim van de Weerd to show his plant pot family at the first edition of Design.ve. This event heralds the most groundbreaking design, with a focus this year on wood, glass and ceramics. A select group of designs will be shown at various locations in Venice, the Carnivora being part of the group show in Palazo Loredan, the Venetian Institute of Science, Literature and Art.

\nHip in London<\/strong>
\nEach year the London Mint Shop selects the best work from various design trade shows to present at their spring exhibition. During the Dutch Design Week 2014, Tim van de Weerd\u2019s large, exalted Monstera plant pots were selected. The following year, the smaller, sprightly Carnivora pots catched their eye at the Dutch Design Week and were selected for their exhibition in 2015. The Mint Shop is renowned for having a keen eye for trends, details and aesthetics. It is no wonder, therefore, that Tim van de Weerd, whose work breathes natural elegance and sports surprising details, has been selected once again.<\/p>\n
